Body Mechanics for Professional Organizers: Working Smart, Working Safe
Presented by Physical Therapist Danielle Rodman

Organizing is a rewarding — and physically demanding — profession. Join physical therapist Danielle Rodman for an interactive workshop designed specifically for organizers who want to protect their bodies while doing the work they love. Learn practical strategies to work smarter, prevent injury, and stay healthy both on and off the job.

Topics include:

  • The pros and cons of a physically demanding career (spoiler: more pros than cons!)

  • Proper lifting techniques: live demonstration and hands-on practice

    • Floor-to-waist, floor-to-overhead lifts

    • Safe strategies for navigating stairs

    • Managing repetitive lifting

    • Reaching, pushing, pulling, and scooting safely

  • The "Two-Finger Lift Test": how to know when it’s time to ask for help

  • Injury prevention through smart movement and healthy habits beyond the job site

  • First-response strategies for injuries:

    • Why “RICE” is out and “motion is lotion” is in

    • When to work through discomfort, when to stop, and when to seek professional help

Equip yourself with the tools and techniques to make your organizing career stronger, safer, and longer-lasting!
